Trading the Dax

Finished the week off just trading the first 2 hours and then had a long lunch.

Up US $1000 today with 2 sequence trades.

Bought a confirmation break on the uptrend with a nice structure.

Took some heat as I waited for the potential breakout.

I've made a video of this trade with Brian from Pride Trading helping with technology.

The next trade I looked to fade at the resistance highs with a stop out on the first attempt then a nice move on a fast drop.

If you click on the link above you can watch as I trade the first trade.

It is slow but it shows the timing of the entry, the heat taken on the trade and me just missing adding a 3rd contract as price expanded up.

I think it is good to experience the reality of trading. Ignore the sound as this was Alexander doing his morning projections.

Trading Dax ES S&P Skills Trade Examples

Today will be the last post this week as I head to Vegas for the 4th July weekend.

Today I again posted profits but not in the most glamorous of style.

News events caused some quick moves with the Dax, stop running into the 4900's.

The initial Dax trade today I took on a break higher which on review was a bad entry.

A half hour before market open trading highs from a range was not the smartest entry!

As with yesterday I was stopped out on the bottom tick at 4864.5.

Re-entered at 4870 but the range held and I was stopped at 4863.5.

Good start 0 from 2.

The third entry with the ES breaking out upward out of a range was off twin tails.

Entry took some heat, but as the 4860 price held I added a contract at 4864.

Closed 1 contract at the range high and the 2nd contract near resistance 4883.5

3rd contract was closed as no new buying was coming in 4878.5.

Next entry on chart 2 was a short off a clean setup where I sold 1 contract at support.

I closed the 2nd contract as price made a 3 bar high.

I traded a couple of scalps which did nothing much and finished up $820 US.

Traded the Euro/US dollar futures and was looking for a break of 1.41

Nailed the move for a low risk exit at first resistance.

The next trade was messy with an entry looking for a move to 1.4142 which is second resistance.

Stopped out of a 1 contract momentum entry for a small loss.

Re- entered above 1.4120 support and scaled out around the large resistance area of 1.4140

Profit was $580 US
